This weekend
This weekend is going to be perfect - lots of food, time with the hubby, nice weather, and listening to our church's General Conference. Without getting too preachy, I love it because the uplifting messages give me encouragement and strength to keep going with the daily grind. I personally believe that the leaders who speak to us during this semi-annual conference are disciples of Christ just like those in the Bible - and to me, being able to hear their messages is a pretty amazing thing. Anyway, we're going to start a tradition to make the most unhealthy yummy breakfast possible on the two Sundays a year we have conference. Tomorrow I'm making these, and I'm kind of already drooling. Don't pretend you're not either.

Anyone remember doing this as a kid?
Well guess what? I do it as an adult too. Well....kind of. But I'm obviously doing it way cooler. Pffff. Come on, kid, get it together.

Your OCD is showing
Does anybody else feel like they can't function when their gmail inbox button has a number of unread messages in bold parentheses? Just me? Okay then. Welp I'm happy to report that after months of chipping away at almost 400 emails (and growing daily) I am down to Z-E-R-O. I can finally breathe. I've unsubscribed from everything I think I ever subscribed to in the first place and now I'm never EVER giving out my real email address again. No matter how good the deal is. (I should probably repeat this to myself a few times). Hooray for squeaky clean inboxes!! And for fellow OCD-ers like myself that I know are out there......somewhere....cheering right along with me.

Weekly Pinterest Picks
Can you believe it?! I am actually doing my weekly pinterest picks post on Monday! I'm pretty sure this means the universe is about to implode. And now you've had fair warning. But first I have an outfit to share! It's just one pic because the photos were too dark for me to edit without them coming out grainy. [Insert super sad face here].

why i'm a 14 yr old girl
Because this afternoon at exactly 3:55pm is the first chance I've had to go see this. And I'm beyond stoked. Also because I read these and liked loved them. I know, eww. But that was before I knew they were the bees knees for 14 yr old girls everywhere. It was actually three almost 30 yr old women who are very hip and awesome who converted me. Promise. Since finding out what they really are I'm always super duper embarrassed to admit I used to stay up until 2am when I had work the next morning reading them. And btw - the movies sucked so don't judge me if you've only watched those. Like they were REALLY not good. Whatsoever. Whew. Glad that's off my chest. Aren't you?

Hungry
Growing up my sister would always ask me two questions whenever I was cranky: "Have you eaten?" and "Have you slept?" Then she would tell me to go eat a sandwich and take a nap before I could talk to her again. Of course that made me more cranky, but usually I did what I was told since I was the youngest and didn't have much of a choice. I wonder if sometimes my husband feels like saying this to me whenever I'm a bit of a grouch. I'm gonna pretend he doesn't and loves me even when I'm less than sugary sweet. It would be so kind if you could leave me to my delusions and not tell me otherwise. Thanks.

Vday
Before we get too ahead of ourselves here, I have been meaning to post about Valentine's Day (aka lover's day). This vday we decided to keep it low key and do a fun dinner and dessert at home. And can I just say, it was PERFECT. I couldn't have asked for a better night. Seriously. The best part was spending time with the hubby. (Did I hear an audible "awwww"? or was it more like "gag me?" I'm gonna go with "aww".) Now for the juicy details (you know - what I wore to school, what we made for dinner, how we set the table, etc etc.) Real juicy stuff, I tell ya.
{You can't really tell, but these are leopard print. I was so proud that I mixed stripes and leopard that I took a million shots trying to get a good one, but just ended up with a million bad ones.}
{Sooo, my hubby walked in curious to see what I was doing. This is me being super awkward not wanting to pose when we was watching and having the camera timer go off.}

Weekly Pinterest Picks
So I promise (cross-my-heart) that I will not make this once weekly blog post thing a habit. It's just been crazy around here with midterms and spring break and such. BTW - I've got some awesome pics to show you all of the trip to Zion National Park we took last week. Just get mentally prepared for that awesomeness coming your way. In the meantime, I want to do the Weekly Pinterest Picks a day early, because, well, we all deserve it. And also because I FINALLY got my Pinterest account working again after like a, idk, 3 week drought? It was awful. Never let it happen to you. So without further delay, my pinterest picks!
{I'm pretty sure I'm doing this tomorrow. I decided to let my hair be all natural and curly and such the last few days and it has NOT been good to me.}
{Do I post pretty formal dresses too much? No? Good, because I'm fairly certain you couldn't make me stop. Even if you said pretty please. Honestly the whole Elie Saab Haute Couture Spring collection of 2011 makes me swoon.}
{Is there anything better than a sunburst in photography? I'm obsessed. Please don't buy it before I get the chance. Thankyouverymuch.}
{The most perfectly perfect retro shoes that ever were. And only $23?! Thank you China.}
{Well, bless his little heart. Pinned here.}
{I feel like this is what my professors are doing after every test I've taken. Pinned here.}
{I'm waiting for the caramel to cool as we speak. Cross your fingers there will be picture proof tomorrow and a happy stomach tonight. Recipe found here.}
{Once I figure out where this place is I am going immediately. Pinned here.}

Here Comes The Sun
I have been singing this song all morning. I also have some good and bad news. The good news is that it is a gorgeous day outside, hence the song stuck in my head. The bad news......I must have acclimated to this weird state's weather because its only 40 degrees outside and I'm ready to put on a tshirt and flip flops. Boo. Anyway, the sun is seriously my favorite thing in the world. But not if it's still cold out. That's just a mean trick. That's why summer = perfection. I know what you're thinking, but I'm not like everyone else out there who claims they love the sun. It's a serious issue with me. Let me illustrate: Growing up in Washington I basically looked like this:
Then I discovered tanning in High School and looked like this:
But I also looked like this:
Okay not really. But the point is the sun makes me want to go running through the hills while singing a song like I'm living in a musical. PS - who DOESNT want to live in a musical? Just me? Oh. Well at least I'm not totally alone in the sun makes me happy thing. There's apparently even a disease. SAD or whatever. Good thing the hubby and I are planning to live in CA for the rest of our lives. Because orange is not a good color for me.

The greatest worst trip ever
Remember the time when my hubby left me for some dysfunctional wires? {Don't remember? This, this, this & this will help jog your memory}. Welp, here are the deets from the trip. I know. FINALLY.
{The truck}
{The hubby working hard}
{I tried to keep myself entertained, but I'll be honest, I was pr-etty bored}
{When we decided to call it a day, we had to strap a new tarp down, which was a little bitty adventure on its own}
{The next day we couldn't really do anything since all the mechanics were closed, so we headed to the mall. Like 14 yr olds. It was there we found a church....in said mall....only in Texas}
{We ALSO found that you can get your taxes done just outside of the food court. Score.}
{We got these chair massages and mine basically felt like I was getting punched in the back}
{We then hit the mall arcade, okay so maybe we were like 12 yr olds, and I TOTALLY beat the hubby at air hockey!}
{When we left lunch to walk back to our hotel, it was POURING and apparently Houston doesn't believe in sidewalks. You can't tell from the pic, but I was soaked and even had water puddles IN my boots. Is that not the WORST feeling EVER?}
